The ALTAÏR CMMS solution from DSDSYSTEM has allowed the oil company to optimize and unify the management of lifecycle maintenance operations for its fuel storage facilities, which are spread across 12 sites in France.

Raffinerie du Midi, which historically emerged from one of the first oil refineries to be set up in France, today manages 10% of the national transmission of petroleum and other fuels through its activities in receiving, storing and redistributing hydrocarbon products.  The operation currently consists of 12 depots spread across French territory.

Due to the nature of its activities, Raffinerie du Midi meets a very strict set of regulations, particularly in terms of production, safety and industrial maintenance.  The company therefore follows many business processes set up to ensure optimal operational efficiency and safety levels which meet regulatory requirements.

A web-based CMMS, the latest step in the project to deploy a next-generation information system.

In 2008, Raffinerie du Midi launched a consultation process with the aim of replacing its CMMS. Until then, the management and monitoring of maintenance operations had been based on paper documents, produced and delivered by different sites in isolation and in a non-standard format, which did not provide centralized visibility and control.

Raffinerie du Midi was looking for a solution which offered a full functional scope and highly flexible configuration in order to integrate different types of data and operations – preventative maintenance, records of equipment history, safety checks, inventory management, tracking of spare parts – progressively into the CMMS.  Raffinerie du Midi also wanted to have next-generation technology, in keeping with its new information system, which had been recently installed and was working on a SaaS model.

After conducting an extensive evaluation of the main CMMS systems available on the market, Raffinerie du Midi chose the next generation solution ALTAÏR from DSDSYSTEM. In addition to the purely technological and functional aspects which clearly placed ALTAÏR on the first level of CMMS solutions on the market, the choice of the company was also influenced by the competitive pricing of ALTAÏR, as well as the expert knowledge of the business of industrial maintenance demonstrated by the DSDSYSTEM teams. 

Centralized maintenance management and data standardization
